Hey Reader, After leaving the corporate world, I thought I knew a thing or two about willpower. Working long hours? ✔️ Climbing the corporate ladder? ✔️ Hitting each professional goal I set for myself? ✔️ Then I entered the online business world and thought, easy peasy. Yeah right. The truth is, willpower has become synonymous with success, hasn’t it? After all, if you have enough of it, your dreams come true, whether climbing the corporate ladder, going into business for yourself, or something else. Or so we’re told. But what happens when willpower becomes a liability? Before I go on, I want to say - willpower can be a fantastic thing. There is no doubt that you, as an entrepreneur, need willpower in spades. Many experts believe willpower is a necessary component of business ownership. After all, it takes long hours to create something from scratch. To build up a customer or client base. To keep it going when you face hardship or setbacks. Like everything, though, balance is key. Willpower can get you far, but it can also be your worst enemy, especially when it leads to decision-making fatigue, a work-life imbalance, and, in the worst-case scenario, burnout.
