Trouble on Your Team?

Dear Reader,

Do you have trouble decoding team dynamics?

If so, it’s time to level up your leadership game by building your emotional intelligence.

Quick refresher-

Emotional intelligence is the ability to recognize, understand, and manage your emotions and the emotions of others.

But how do you know if your EQ needs work? Ask yourself this-

Do you struggle to:

  • Express yourself
  • Provide constructive feedback
  • Accept criticism
  • Manage stress
  • Let go of control
  • Adapt to change
  • Build relationships

If you answered yes to most of those, odds are, you need to work on your EQ.

You’re not alone, though!!

The truth is that emotional intelligence encompasses a myriad of components, and we’re all a work in progress.
My point is this: isn’t it time to take control and invest in your growth?

To get started today, try these simple exercises:

1. Self-Reflection: Reflect on your emotions, triggers, and biases.

2. Active Listening: Listen without interruption or distraction. Watch for non-verbal cues.

3. Ask The Team: Ask your team how you can support them. How do they prefer getting feedback? Have there been any communication issues? Have they faced any conflicts?

4. Manage Stress: Manage your stress to ensure you’re not bringing it into the workplace. Need an outlet? It might be time to meditate, set boundaries, or even - worst case scenario for some- exercise. Even if you feel like

5. Continuous Learning: Start saying yes to professional development opportunities, whether they relate to EQ or something else. It’s one of the best things you can do for yourself.

Ready to start your journey of self-discovery and growth?

Sign up for an EQ assessment. We’ll measure the five key components of your emotional intelligence: self-awareness, self-regulation, social awareness, social regulation, and motivation. After you’ve completed your assessment, we’ll schedule an hour-long debrief to go over the results and how they affect your leadership.
